Role Summary
To do commissioning of the MV drives or MV panel, Transformer, Generator or LV drive for a Project at site for a Product or a Process Line.
Essential Responsibilities.
Commissioning of the MV drives or Transformer / Generator / MV panels / PCC / MCC or LV drives
Scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines
Creating and carrying out test procedures
Ensuring site safety norms
Coordinating with installation/project engineers/Project Managers
Site report preparation, planning and execution
Needs to work closely with the global project team.
Investigating technical problems, diagnosing/repairing faults
Troubleshooting
Technical risk identification for the project
Qualifications/Requirements
Dip / B.E / M.E or equivalent / Electrical/Electronic engineering –Minimum 3 – 9 years’ experience
Minimum 3 / 5 years of experience in commissioning of Medium Voltage drives, motors, transformer, HV / MV/ LV panels or
Automation system with HMI / DCS / PLC.Strong knowledge on field instruments like encoders, limit switches, resolvers, RTD / PT100,Load cells and Vibration sensor independently.
Strong knowledge on field instruments like encoders, limit switches, resolvers, RTD / PT100, Vibration sensors.
Should have process knowledge of Metal / Marine / oil and gas commissioning.
Relay testing and Programming
Independent performance trials experience for the Generator /drives
AVR Commissioning
HMI Interfacing and Automation
Communication network skills – Profibus/Modbus/Ethernet Personal Qualities
Self motivated
Able to work under minimal supervision
Be able to use own initiative to proactively solve problems & work in a cross functional team environment.
Possess the ability to communicate effectively at all levels with a good command of both spoken and written English
Willing to Travel extensively Inside India/Global in short notice
Should be ready to stay away from Home town for Longer periods( six months)
Willing to do the Sail away support in Ship
Must have a valid driver’s license
Desired Characteristics
Hands-on application engineering experience in Electronic Interlocking system
Ability and willingness to travel abroad and within India for providing on-site support and interfacing with customers
Knowledge of working within a Quality environment (Particularly ISO 9001)
Database management using Oracle, MS Access, or other specialized maintenance applications
Ability to work to tight deadlines undertake occasional work on client site
Location : Chennai, India
Salary : Negotiable
