Why Is OSHA Important to You?

Ask Yourself
Ask yourself these questions and reflect on your responses as you continue through this section.
- When, during your work experience, did you first hear about OSHA?
- What did you think about OSHA then?
- What do you think OSHA's job is?
You might be one of those people who thinks, "An accident could never happen to me." If this is the case, take this into consideration:
- For every 3,000 hazards that you encounter in your place of work, you will have 300 near miss experiences.
- Of those 300 near miss incidents, 30 of them will result in a worker getting injured.
- For every 30 injuries, one worker will die!
